MAMA BEAR FAMILY REUNIONS
This was our first year starting "Mama Bear" Family Reunions. Really, any woman who has children can be called a "Mama Bear". With that thought in mind, we gathered our cubs together to spend time. Family reunions are about reconnecting families, enjoying great food, sharing experiences, laughter, fun and making memories together. This was a trip, we will soon not forget. We are hoping in the years to come, other family members will join us.
RELIVING MEMORIES IN BELIZE - JULY 4, 2018
THE "MAMA BEAR" INITIATION CEREMONY
Due to rain, the campfire ceremony was cancelled and relocated to the back porch. We proceeded with the initiation ceremony (without the campfire). None-the-less, we enjoyed the time together just the same. The Mama Bear Initiation Ceremony and the Farewell Ceremony, are two highlights of each family reunion. The campfire initiation ceremony, includes singing a series of songs together, followed by a swearing in. Each person raises their right hand, and agrees to two things. (1) They promise to have fun, and (2) They agree to settle any differences that arise quickly. After each person agrees (to both), they receive a Mama Bear painted paw print to each cheek.
Finishing off the Smore Sandwich Cookies from the Night Before.
The kids ended their day, with a night swim & us adults caught up on the last five years of life.
