Marlene's Cherry Cheesecake Pie

This was my father's favorite pie.  I remember growing up eating this pie, multiple times.  Now and then dad would ask mom, "Can you make my pie?"
Picture
MARLENE'S CHERRY CHEESECAKE PIE
1 graham cracker pie crust (or make your own)
1 (8 oz.) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
(Note:  do not use evaporated milk)

1/3 c. lemon or lime juice fresh, not lemon extract
(2 large lemons or 3 medium limes)

1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Instructions
  • Let cream cheese stand at room temperature until softened.
  • In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until light and fluffy.
  • Slowly add condensed milk, lemon juice and vanilla, beating until smooth.
  • Pour into crust.
